WASHINGTON COUNTY — A 24-year-old Ashley woman was injured Tuesday morning in a one-vehicle crash on U.S. 51 just south of Interstate 64.

According to Illinois State Police, around 10 a.m. Tuesday, Taylor Davis was traveling southbound on U.S. 51 in a 2007 Chevrolet HHR when she was distracted by items shifting around in the vehicle.

The HHR drifted into the northbound lanes and when Davis realized it she overcorrected and her vehicle left the roadway and overturned.

Davis suffered minor injuries and was taken from the scene to an area hospital. A 4-year-old female passenger was uninjured.
