for which he’s currently serving parole from the Illinois Department of Corrections.
Marcus M. Currie was formally charged today in Fayette County Court with Class 1 felony possession of between 15 and 100 grams of cocaine. His bail has been set at $100,000 and he remains in the Fayette County Jail in Vandalia.
Currie was released last May from the Vandalia Correctional Center, after serving just over a year and a half of a six year prison sentence.
He was convicted in 2013, after pleading guilty in Marion County to a Class X felony for manufacture with the intent to deliver cocaine near a school, public housing or park.
Currie was due to be released in September from his term of parole.
