CENTRALIA — Firefighters with the Centralia Fire Protection District responded to a call around 12:30 Tuesday afternoon on Gary Street for a report of a camper on fire.
When firefighters arrived on scene, they reported the camper was fully involved. They were notified that the camper held multiple propane tanks, along with firearms and ammunition inside. Those items could have posed a personal safety hazard to responding firefighters.
There were no reports of the tanks exploding or of ammunition going off inside the camper. The camper is believed to be a complete loss.
The tire of one nearby vehicle also reportedly caught fire. No other damage, and no injuries were reported.
