MARION COUNTY — The 16-year-old juvenile male arrested Thursday for a break-in early that morning at Casey’s General Store in Odin pleaded guilty Friday in Marion County Court to the charges against him and was sentenced to two years probation, says Odin Police Chief Joe Nix.

The juvenile spent the night in the Franklin County Juvenile Detention Center following his arrest in connection with the burglary in which a brick was thrown through a glass front door of the store and cigarettes and chewing tobacco was taken.
Per the plea agreement, the 16-year-old will have to serve 50 hours community service and pay restitution to the store for the broken door and the items taken. He will also have to pay restitution to three separate vehicle owners for throwing bricks through the vehicle windows.
Odin police arrested the juvenile after a quick investigation that resulted in Nix finding all items of clothing the suspect was wearing during the burglary. Nix says a hoodie the suspect wore during the break-in was discovered in a creek, an orange cap was found in a yard and the other items of clothing that matched those worn by the suspect in surveillance video were found when a search warrant was executed on the juvenile’s Odin home.
Nix continues to search for the items taken in the burglary, and the investigation continues.
