WASHINGTON COUNTY — A 28-year-old Cisco, Georiga, man has been cited for a four-vehicle accident on Interstate 64 Friday morning in Washington County.

Jacob L. Jones was ticketed for failure to reduce speed to avoid a crash. Jones was transported to a local hospital for injuries in the crash that also injured 75-year-old Loretta J. Englebright of Mt. Olive, 68-year-old Richard J. Broz of Louisville, and 33-year-old Samia T. Shenshen of Salem.

Preliminary reports indicate all vehicles were traveling westbound on I-64 in the left lane at a construction zone. A car driven Jones failed to slow for traffic in front of him. He first struck a car driven by Englebright in the rear, pushing it into a car driven by 67-year-old Michael Thrasher of Mt. Vernon. Thrasher’s car then hit a vehicle in the rear driven by 42-year-old Jennifer Woody of Carl Junction, Missouri.

Both Shenshen and Broz reportedly suffered minor injuries. Englebright was flown from the scene by helicopter with serious injuries.

Westbound lanes of I-64 were closed for approximately 2-hours during crash clean-up and investigation.
