MARION COUNTY — A one-car crash Friday night on Interstate 57 resulted in the arrest of a 49-year-old Odin man for alleged driving under the influence of drugs.

Darrin Venters was arrested around 5:30 Friday by Illinois State Police, after another motorist on I-57 called in a report of a black 2008 GMC truck that left the road, struck a construction sign and landed in a roadside ditch where it hit some trees.

The truck received major damage, but Venters did not need medical treatment.

He was taken to the Marion County Jail where he posted bond and was released.
