MADISON COUNTY — The Plains All American Pipeline Company is offering to take damage claims from people affected by a Friday oil spill in Madison County.

More than 4,000 gallons of crude oil leaked from the company’s pump station in the eastern part of the county.

Much of it ended up in Silver Creek, which feeds Silver Lake, the source of water for Highland. Emergency personnel in Highland and Grantfork say they weren’t notified about the spill until about 1 p.m. Friday, even though the company was told about the leak early that morning.
