MOUNT VERNON — Another Jefferson County school has received a bomb threat, this time the J.L. Buford Intermediate Education Center in Mt. Vernon.

police_line_400x300Students have been evacuated to the Baptist church next to the school. You may go to the church next door to check on and pick up your child if you wish.

No details are being released at this time.

This is the second bomb threat in two days to a Mt. Vernon school. Students were evacuated Monday from Casey Middle School students were taken to St. Mary’s Catholic Church during Monday’s evacuation.

In a threat received by Casey Middle School on February 22nd, a 13 year old juvenile was arrested later that afternoon in connection with the bomb threat and was sent to the Franklin County Juvenile Detention Center.

Those threats follow a pair to the Mt. Vernon Township High School and one to the Hamilton County Junior/Senior High School in McLeansboro.
