MARION COUNTY — A 29-year-old Centralia man arrested in December on charges including Class X felony manufacture with the intent to deliver between 15 and 100 grams of cocaine has been sentenced to 2-years in prison, after entering into a plea agreement with the state.

Deandre Owens pleaded guilty Tuesday in Marion County Court to Class 4 felony possession of a controlled substance in exchange for the other charges being dismissed, including Class 4 possession of a controlled substance, Class 4 felony false report of an offense, Class 4 felony aggravated fleeing police through two or more traffic control devices, misdemeanor resisting arrest and the Class X cocaine distribution charge.

Owens was arrested in December with 20-year-old Marquita A. Reynolds, of Centralia following a late-night traffic stop in Centralia.

Owens reportedly used a child in the car as a shield between him and police. He’s remained in the Marion County Jail since his arrest with bail set at $500,000.

Reynolds still faces charges of Class X felony manufacture with the intent to distribute 15-100 grams of cocaine and Class 4 felony obstruction of justice.

Owens was scheduled for a March 28 jury trial on all charges against him.
