MARION COUNTY — A 36-year-old Special Education teacher at South Central High School in Farina has been formally charged in Marion County Court in connection with allegedly sending sexually materials to a student.
Sian E. Kuester was charged Monday with Class 4 felony manufacture of harmful material and sending them to a minor.
According to Marion County State’s Attorney Matt Wilzbach, Kuester, of Salem, sent sexually inappropriate pictures and a video to a minor student.
The South Central Board of Education approved a move to mandate a five-day suspension without pay for Kuester at their October 19 meeting.
The decision was made in closed session where board members were given details that led to their decision. No other details were released at that time.
According to court records, the case was originally opened in January, but the charge against Kuester wasn’t filed until Monday, along with a notice to appear in court November 29. It’s unclear if she has returned to work at South Central High School.
