CENTRALIA — Kaskaskia College will host its 15th annual “Enduring Freedom” Veterans Day Celebration on Monday, November 14 on KC’s main campus to honor the service of those men and women who have given their time and energy in the service of our country.  

The morning will feature a free breakfast in the College’s Student Center from 7:30 to 9:30 a.m. for veterans and their guests. 

A special program will be held in the Jane Knight Auditorium starting at 9:45 a.m. that is open to the students and the public, featuring a panel discussion of “Women in the Military Today”, conducted by four Kaskaskia College students who have served, or are currently serving in the armed forces. 

The panel, which will be moderated by KC’s Coordinator of Veteran Affairs Carrie Hancock, will highlight the advancement women have made in the military over the years. 

The morning will also feature the presentation of colors by the Beckemeyer American Legion Post #1227, and the performance of the military service songs by the Kaskaskia College Choir under the direction of Lynda Marshall.
