MARION COUNTY — Bail has been set at $100,000 for a 42-year-old Salem man arrested Monday night on a drug-related warrant.

John Haney has been charged in Marion County court with three Class 2 felonies, two for the distribution of narcotics and one for possession of between 5 and 15 grams of methamphetamine.

The charges stem from an investigation by the Marion County Sheriff’s Office in which confidential buyers reportedly purchased drugs from Haney in the last year in the Salem area.

One charge alleges the sale of heroin and the other the sale of fentanyl. The meth charge stems from the alleged possession of the drug during an alleged incident in the Clinton County portion of Centralia.

Haney, who remains in the Marion County Jail, was advised in court Tuesday of the charges against him. A first appearance with his court appointed attorney in the case was scheduled for April 2.
