MOUNT VERNON — The Mt. Vernon Police Department/Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office High Risk Team executed three search warrants early Tuesday morning in Mt. Vernon, this time resulting in the arrests of seven individuals on various drug-related charges at three separate homes.

According to MVPD, the search warrants were obtained through investigations by the MVPD/JCSO Narcotics Division that indicated controlled substances were being sold from the residences.

After the residences were secured a search was conducted by Narcotics Division Detectives.

At the first address, 1018 Warren Avenue, two male subjects fled from the residence as the High Risk Team arrived.

They were both apprehended after a brief foot pursuit. One of the subjects, 26-year-old Curtis Booker, was found to be in possession of quantities of heroin, packaged for delivery.

A female, 23-year-old Gabrielle House, and two small children were located inside the residence.
A search of the residence revealed two more quantities of heroin, packaged for delivery.

Booker was charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance with Intent to Deliver, Possession of Cannabis, Possession of Drug Equipment, Resisting a Peace Officer and Child Endangerment. Booker’s bond is to be set by a judge.

House was charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance with Intent to Deliver, Possession of Cannabis, Possession of Drug Equipment and Child Endangerment. House’s bond is to be set by a judge.

A search of 1018 Warren Ave. resulted in the discovery of quantities of heroin, cannabis, drug equipment and drug proceeds. The street value of the heroin was determined to be $3800.00.

Police arrested 26-year-old Trimail Clay at that residence for alleged Possession of Cannabis and Resisting a Peace Officer.

At the second residence, #5 Bravard Place, two male subjects, 28-year-old Moses Curtis and and 26-year-old Theodore Jefferson, were found inside. A search of the residence revealed quantities of crack cocaine, cannabis, drug equipment and drug proceeds.

Curtis was charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance, Possession of Cannabis with Intent to Deliver and Possession of Drug Equipment. Curtis’ bond is to be set by a judge.

Jefferson was charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance, Possession of Cannabis with Intent to Deliver and Possession of Drug Equipment. Jefferson’s bond is to be set by a judge.

At the third residence, 1117 S 12 TH Street, a male and a female, 63-year-old Larry Mays and 53-year-old Yvonne Jones were found inside. A search of the residence revealed quantities of cocaine, cannabis, drug equipment, loaded firearms and drug proceeds.

Mays was charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance, Possession of Cannabis with Intent to Deliver, Possession of Drug Equipment and Possession of Firearms by a Felon. Mays’ bond is to be set by a judge.

Jones was charged with Possession of Cannabis with Intent to Deliver. Jones’ bond is to be set by a judge.

Over $5000.00 in drug proceeds were seized from the three locations.
