BENTON — An 18-year-old Buckner man was arrested by Benton Police Saturday after officers responded to a report of an armed robbery that had taken place in the 400 block of East Webster Street.

Police say a man, identified as Joshua C. Plumlee, entered an elderly person’s home at 10 a.m. and brandished a knife demanding the homeowner to provide him with money. Plumlee made off with an undisclosed amount of cash.

Police were able to get Plumlee’s description. It was consistent with a man wanted for questioning by Christopher Police following multiple burglaries that took place Friday.

Benton Police, with help from Christopher Police and the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office, were able to take Plumlee into custody in the 600 block of Grayson Street in Benton within a few hours of the robbery.

Plumlee is lodged in the Franklin County Jail charged with armed robbery and home invasion.
