JACKSON COUNTY — A 42-year-old former Carterville band director has been sentenced to 150 days in jail and 30 months probation for taking inappropriate pictures of an underage girl.
Michael Todd Norrington was sentenced Tuesday in Jackson County Court, after previously being found guilty in July of unauthorized video recording.
Norrington was arrested in June 2014 for allegedly using his cell phone to take pictures up a 14-year-old girl’s shorts while in the Carbondale Goodwill store.
Norrington apologized in court Tuesday to the victim’s family.
He was ordered to report to the Jackson County Jail on October 15 to begin serving his sentence. He is eligible for day-for-day credit for good behavior.
