JEFFERSON COUNTY — Two men are in jail, after a search warrant was executed Wednesday night at a Mt. Vernon home where drugs and a loaded handgun were located.

According to the Mt. Vernon Police Department, 41-year-old Bryon Liddell, and 31-year-old Jerrett Spells were located at the home in the 300 block of Spruce Street in Mt. Vernon, after the Mt. Vernon Police Department/Jefferson County Sheriff’s Department High Risk Team executed a search warrant.

The warrant was secured following an investigation by the MVPD/JCSO Narcotics Division developed information that cocaine and crack cocaine was being sold at the residence.

After the residence was secured a search by Narcotics Division Detectives resulted in the recovery quantities of cocaine/crack cocaine, cannabis, digital scales, packaging materials, United States currency and a loaded handgun.

Liddell and Spells remain in the Jefferson County Jail on charges of possession controlled substance with intent to deliver, possession of cannabis, and possession of drug equipment with other charges pending.
